GROUPS

Adventures in Faith

Sunday Mornings

9:15 am

Adventures in Faith is Grace Lutheran's Sunday School hour, every Sunday at 9:15 am to 10:15 am.

Pre-K through high school meet together in the Noah's Club room, adjacent to the fellowship hall. We are currently working to resume separate classes for different age groups. Contact the Inreach council member, Linda Keaser, for more information about Sunday School.

Confirmation instruction usually lasts for two years, beginning in the fall of eighth grade and concluding with the confirmation service on Reformation Sunday (last Sunday in October) of the tenth-grade year. Pastor Tom leads this group during the school year most Sundays from 9:15 am to 10:15 am, using Martin Luther's Small Catechism as our guide.

First Communion class usually takes place every year for fourth grade students. It is offered for five weeks in the spring during the Adventures in Faith time.

An adult class meets in the St. John's Hall room in the gathering space near the sanctuary on Sundays from 9:15 am to 10:15 am.

Music Groups

Choirs &

Handbells

Music is a big part of the ministry at Grace Lutheran Church. We have a mixed vocal choir, men's choir, and handbell choir.

The Grace Choir is open to all who love to sing, from teenagers to adult! Rehearsals are held on Thursdays at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary. The choir sings many Sundays throughout the year, except during summer months. Contact: Diane Christensen

Men of Grace is a vocal men's group. The Men of Grace typically sing a few times throughout the year.

The Grace Notes Handbell Choir usually rings once a month and on festival Sundays. The bell choir uses 3 octaves of Malmark handbells and hand chimes. We welcome anyone 12 and older and practice weekly on Monday nights at 7:00 pm, September through May. Contact: Becky Winegardner

Women's Groups

Circles &

WNALC Group

The Grace Lutheran Women of the NALC has now restarted its meetings. Information about dates and times is forthcoming.

Grace Lutheran currently has two women's circles that meet once a month to encourage fellowship and bible study.

Friendship Circle     3rd Monday      11:30 am with meal
Monticello Circle     4th Wednesday 7:00 pm

The women's groups also connect with the wider Women of the NALC. The organization encourages women in their own congregations, while offering a place to find spiritual guidance, support, mission, and fellowship.

For more information, contact the church office: office@gracethornville.org.

Quilting Group

Quilting &

Fellowship

The quilting group meets the third Sunday of every month in the fellowship hall. Hand quilting starts at 12:00 pm, followed by quilting and a devotional.  All are welcome! The group does group patterns and individual projects, so bring something you are working on or a new project you would like to begin.

The LWR (Lutheran World Relief) quilters meet on the 3rd Wednesday, 9:00 am, at the church.

Tuesday's Table

Meal & Fellowship

Tuesday's Table is a fellowship group that meets once a month for dinner at a nearby restaurant. It is an opportunity to get to know other members of Grace Lutheran Church and support our local establishments. Contact Jim Roshon for more information.

Men's Breakfast

Breakfast, Fellowship & Devotion

The Men's Breakfast meets at 8:00 AM on the third Saturday of each month at Nana and Papa's restaurant in Thornport. Pastor Tom shares a brief devotion or reflection for conversation. Contact Pr. Tom for more information.

Spiritual Book Discussion Group

Reading & Discussion of  Faith-Based Literature

Twice a year, Pr. Tom selects a thought-provoking spiritual book for reading and reflection. Participants in this group are given some background information on the book, and they then read at their own pace. After some time, the group convenes for discussion. Contact Pr. Tom for more information.
